Astrotalk - Data Scientist

About The Role

We are looking for a Data Scientist with 1 - 2 years of experience who has hands-on experience in predictive modelling and machine learning, preferably from a B2C/product-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and experiment with predictive models and ML solutions for varied business and customer problems.
• Work with customer, behavioural, transactional, and product data to identify patterns and generate actionable insights.
• Apply ML techniques such as XGBoost, Random Forest, Logistic Regression, and other relevant algorithms.
• Work with NLP/text data and explore relevant use cases.
• Handle the complete modelling lifecycle - data exploration, feature engineering, model development, evaluation, and optimisation.
• Work closely with Product, Business, and Engineering teams to translate data-driven ideas into practical solutions.

• 1 - 2 years of experience in Data Science / Machine Learning.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with predictive modelling and XGBoost.
• Practical experience with NLP and working with customer/behavioural data.
• Good understanding of statistics, ML algorithms, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
• B2C / consumer internet / product company experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and curiosity to experiment with different approaches and solve open-ended problems.
