Job Description

    As the Global Employee Experience and Inclusion Leader at Avalara, you will be responsible for leading the implementation of scalable programs that enhance employee engagement, advocate for a unified culture across different regions, and facilitate the operation of Avalara as a globally distributed team. Your role will involve collaborating with HR, business leaders, and employee communities to deliver practical programs aligned with the company's goals, making it easier for employees to excel in their work.
    You are expected to bring a combination of strategic depth and operational thoughtfulness to the role. Your expertise in designing programs that enhance the employee experience while maintaining simplicity will be crucial. You will be motivated by creating practical solutions that empower leaders to lead effectively, encourage team collaboration, and assist employees in navigating their career paths with fairness and support.
    In this leadership position with global scope and regional impact, you will report to a US-based global People & Culture leader while being based in India. Your primary focus will be on shaping the employee experience across key regions such as India, the US, LATAM, and EMEA.
    Your responsibilities will include developing a globally consistent employee experience strategy that aligns with Avalara's values and priorities while adapting to local requirements in different regions. You will work closely with various teams to embed fairness and consistency into talent practices such as performance management, promotions, career development, and recognition. Additionally, you will identify critical touchpoints in the employee lifecycle and ensure that these experiences are in line with the company's values and performance culture.
    Utilizing engagement and feedback data, you will collaborate with local leaders to drive actionable improvements in employee experience, inclusion, and culture initiatives. Your role will also involve fostering belonging and collaboration across regions by promoting cultural understanding and team effectiveness. Furthermore, you will play a key role in developing CSR programs in partnership with the ESG leader, aimed at reflecting Avalara's values and fostering employee engagement in local communities.
    To be successful in this role, you are required to have over 15 years of HR experience, including senior positions in employee experience, talent management, or HRBP roles. Your expertise should include building global programs that are practical, scalable, and tailored to diverse geographies. Experience in promoting fairness and consistency within systems, as well as working in global tech or SaaS companies undergoing growth or transformation, will be advantageous. Strong program and change management skills across departments and geographies, along with a global mindset and cultural awareness, are essential for this role.
