Head - Industrial Relations & Manufacturing:
A Head of Industrial Relations & Manufacturing HR leads the industrial relations strategy and plant HR operations across manufacturing units to maintain a peaceful, productive, and legally compliant work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute long-term IR strategies across multiple manufacturing plants to ensure absolute industrial harmony and zero work stoppages.
- Lead high-stakes collective bargaining negotiations, wage settlements, and Long-Term Settlements (LTS) with labor unions.
- Build proactive, positive communication and engagement frameworks with union leaders and shopfloor workers.
- Handle critical dispute resolutions, conciliations, disciplinary actions, and grievance escalations promptly.
- Drive core plant HR processes, including workforce productivity tracking, manpower planning, and performance management.
- Oversee shopfloor training, capability building, shift patterns, and skill-mapping matrices.
- Standardize HR policies and best practices across various regional locations while resolving unique plant-level challenges.
- Ensure strict adherence to local and national labor laws (e.g., Factories Act, Industrial Disputes Act, Contract Labour Act, PF, ESIC).

- Maintain strong, constructive liaisons with government authorities, labor inspectors, factory inspectors, and local administrative bodies.
- Manage labor-related legal cases, audits, and factory inspections.
- Partner with Plant Heads and Business Leaders to align workforce strategy with business goals and production targets.
- Implement modern HR systems (such as SAP/HRMS) and lead digital transformation on the shopfloor.
- Manage contract labor vendors, wage structures, and factory welfare initiatives.
