Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Legal Professional with prior experience in the NBFC/BFSI industry to manage legal, compliance, contractual, and regulatory matters of the organization. The candidate should possess strong knowledge of financial regulations, lending operations, risk management, and corporate legal practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and vet legal agreements, contracts, NDAs, vendor agreements, partnership agreements, and customer-related documents.
- Ensure compliance with RBI regulations, NBFC guidelines, fintech regulations, and applicable laws.
- Handle legal matters related to lending, collections, recovery, KYC, AML, data privacy, and financial services.
- Coordinate with external legal counsels, regulatory bodies, and government authorities when required.
- Provide legal advisory support to management and internal stakeholders on operational and business matters.
- Review and mitigate legal risks associated with products, partnerships, and business operations.
- Manage litigation matters, legal notices, arbitration cases, and dispute resolution activities.
- Monitor changes in financial and corporate laws and advise management on regulatory impact.
- Support internal compliance and policy documentation processes.
- Maintain legal records, contracts repository, and compliance trackers.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- LLB / LLM from a recognized university.
- 5–8 years of relevant legal experience in NBFC, BFSI, FinTech, or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of RBI regulations, contract law, corporate law, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience in handling financial services agreements and regulatory documentation.
- Good drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple legal matters efficiently.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience with NBFCs, FinTech companies, lending platforms, or regulated financial institutions.
- Exposure to digital lending, collections, data privacy, and financial compliance will be an added advantage.
