Senior Accountant

Role Purpose

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

• Execute the month-end and year-end closing processes in SAP S/4HANA, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

• Manage and validate vendor and customer invoices, resolving complex discrepancies and ensuring timely processing.

• Handle prepayment schedules, depreciation calculations, accruals, and provisions, ensuring compliance with internal financial policies and IFRS.

• Perform detailed reconciliations of general ledger accounts, resolving variances promptly.

• Conduct bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.

• Prepare and post complex journal entries, including recurring and ad hoc entries.

• Oversee vendor payments using SAP and banking platforms, ensuring compliance with internal controls and timelines.

• Conduct vendor account reconciliations, resolving disputed balances and ensuring accuracy.

• Reconcile intercompany transactions and coordinate the issuance of intercompany invoices.

• Ensure compliance in reviewing and processing employee expense claims.

• Support audit preparations, providing detailed schedules and serving as the primary point of contact for auditors.

• Mentor and train junior accounting staff, offering guidance on SAP processes and best practices.

Qualifications & Attributes
We re seeking someone who embodies the following:

Education: Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA, ACCA, or CMA preferred.

Experience: 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with mandatory UAE experience.

Technical Skills: Must-haves: Expert-level proficiency in SAP S/4HANA and advanced financial accounting skills. Strong understanding of UAE VAT regulations, IFRS standards, and financial compliance requirements.
