Equity Research Analyst - Buy Side

Role Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic and research-oriented Buy-Side Equity Research Analyst to join a leading Mutual Fund platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth fundamental research on listed companies, generating actionable investment ideas, and supporting the investment team in portfolio decision-making. The role requires strong analytical capabilities, expertise in financial modelling and valuation, and a sound understanding of Indian equity markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed fundamental research on listed companies across sectors.
- Build and maintain integrated financial models and valuation models (DCF, Relative Valuation, SOTP, etc.).
- Generate high-conviction investment ideas backed by thorough research and analysis.
- Prepare detailed company reports, investment notes, sector updates, and earnings reviews.
- Monitor portfolio holdings and track key business, industry, and macroeconomic developments.
- Analyse quarterly results, annual reports, investor presentations, conference calls, and regulatory announcements.
- Meet company management teams, attend investor conferences, and conduct channel checks where required.
- Support portfolio managers and the investment team with research inputs and investment recommendations.
- Stay updated on market trends, sector developments, and emerging investment opportunities.
Desired Candidate Profile:

- MBA (Finance), CA, CFA (completed), or an equivalent qualification.
- 3-8 years of experience in Buy-Side Equity Research, PMS, AMC, AIF, Wealth Management, Family Office, or Institutional Equity Research.
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, business fundamentals, and valuation methodologies.
- Hands-on experience in financial modelling and equity valuation.
- Ability to independently analyse companies and generate investment recommendations.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- High attention to detail with a disciplined and research-driven approach.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Refinitiv, or similar financial databases is preferred.
Preferred Background:
- Candidates with prior experience in buy-side research within mutual fund firms, PMS, AMCs, AIFs, family offices, or institutional investment platforms will be preferred.
