Software Engineer, Mobile

Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT) is the worlds largest telematics service provider. Its mission is to make the worlds roads and drivers safer. The companys AI-driven platform, DriveWell Fusion, gathers sensor data from millions of IoT devices including smartphones, proprietary Tags, connected vehicles, dashcams, and third-party devices and fuses them with contextual data to create a unified view of vehicle and driver behavior. Auto insurers, automakers, commercial mobility companies, and the public sector use insights from CMTs platform to power risk assessment, safety, claims, and driver improvement programs. CMT is looking for a collaborative, customer-committed, and creative Software Engineer II, Mobile who wants to join us in making roads safer by making drivers better!
Responsibilities:

• Implement technical specifications provided by senior developers without substantial guidance
• Participate in code and design reviews
• Design and build mobile application
• Assist in solving complex problems and transform them into business solutions
• Implement software solutions that are easily understood by others, reliable and testable
• Follow company defined development and operational standards and processes
• Complete any additional tasks as they arise
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent years of experience and/or certification in a related field
• 2+ years of relevant development experience
• Experience with different application architectures such as Model-View-Controller, MVVM, and VIPER
• Experience building adaptive user interfaces
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies (specifically SCRUM)
• Experience consuming and/or designing REST APIs is highly desirable
• Experience building Android or iOS mobile applications
• Experience with automated testing techniques (e.g. unit tests, integration tests)
• Hard skills required for Android developers:
• 
  Proficient in both Java and Kotlin with a strong understanding of concurrency concepts
• Familiarity with Android JetPack libraries
• Experience with Kotlin coroutines and flows
• Familiarity with third-party Android libraries like RxJava, Dagger 2, and Retrofit
• Familiarity with Gradle build system for Android
• Hard skills required for iOS focused developers:
• Proficient in both Swift and Objective-C with a strong understanding of concurrency concepts
• Familiarity with iOS Frameworks and development using XCode
• Experience with Combine and SwiftUI
• Familiarity with third-party iOS libraries
• Familiarity with cocoapods or Swift Package Manager
  

Nice to Haves:

• Experience adhering to official UX design guidelines from Apple and Google
• Experience developing and delivering SDKs
• Experience working with mobile sensors and location services
• User level knowledge of issue tracking systems (specifically Jira, Mavenlink)
• Experience with Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics
• Investigation and issue analysis from logs: SumoLogic
• Instrumentation and correlation tracking/statistics with Datadog, Grafana
