What awaits you/ Job Profile 

 

You will join Engineering Intelligence at BMWTechWorks India as a CAD Methods Developer within Advanced Chassis Engineering (ACE). You will develop and continuously enhance CAx methods and engineering workflows for geometric chassis design. Your responsibilities include defining requirements and concepts, implementing and validating CAD methodologies, and supporting their deployment in close collaboration with engineering users and software developers. The focus is on automation, parameterization and the integration of engineering data in CATIA V5 and 3DEXPERIENCE environments. A key objective is to support the transition from CATIA V5-based methods to 3DX-native methods, seamless data exchange and a Single Point of Truth for engineering data across the lifecycle from concept engineering to series development.

What should you bring along

 

• A practical mindset for translating engineering needs into reliable CAx methods and automated workflows.

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, especially engineering users, software developers and validation engineers.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail and quality in method delivery.

• Good communication skills in English and the ability to document requirements, concepts, tests, validation results and user guidance.

• A proactive attitude toward continuous improvement and the transition to 3DX-native processes.

Must have technical skill 

• Proficiency in CATIA V5 and 3DEXPERIENCE environments.

• Strong experience in parametric modeling using Part Design, Shape Design and Assembly Design.

• Experience with DMU, Kinematics and Motion Designer workflows.

• Knowledge of Knowledgeware, EKL and CAD data modeling.

• Practical experience in CAx engineering methods development, including requirements engineering, concept development, testing and validation.

• Experience with 3DX data management and PRISMA.

• Ability to integrate geometry and functional engineering data into traceable and reproducible workflows.

Good to have Technical skills

• Scripting/programming skills in VBA, Python or .NET languages for automation and tooling.

• Experience with workflow automation and integration of geometry with functional engineering data.

• Experience migrating or redesigning CATIA V5-based methods as 3DX-native methods.

• Experience in automotive geometric design, chassis engineering or kinematics-related CAD methods.
