Associate Consultant - Oncology Services

The Associate Consultant – Radiation Oncology Services is responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning, and management of patients requiring radiation therapy for cancer care. The incumbent will work closely with medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based radiation treatment while ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients requiring radiation oncology treatment.
• Develop individualized radiation treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary oncology teams.
• Prescribe and oversee external beam radiotherapy, brachytherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), and other advanced radiation techniques as appropriate.
• Review simulation images, contour target volumes, and approve treatment plans in coordination with medical physicists and dosimetrists.
• Monitor patient progress during and after radiation treatment and manage treatment-related toxicities and complications.
• Conduct inpatient and outpatient consultations, follow-up evaluations, and survivorship care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, clinical meetings, and treatment planning discussions.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, treatment records, and departmental reports.
• Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards, quality assurance protocols, and hospital policies.
• Participate in clinical research, audits, teaching programs, CME activities, and departmental quality improvement initiatives.
