Dy General Manager Operation lead Ambient & beverages, Cold chain

Job Summary:

The Dy General Manager will oversee the daily operations of three milk production plants, ensuring high-quality production of milk and milk-based products, including Tetra Pak A3 Speed and A3 Flex packaging, with a focus on achieving optimal output, efficiency, and cost management. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong experience in milk processing, production optimization, cost control, and team management. The General Manager will be responsible for driving operational excellence and ensuring the plants meet market demands with superior product quality, profitability, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

Plant Operations Management:

• Oversee the daily operations of three milk production plants to ensure consistent and efficient production processes as per guided protocols.
• Monitor and optimize production processes, ensuring that Tetra Pak A3 Speed and A3 Flex packaging operations are streamlined and productive from 95%.
• Manage plant teams to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and production standards given by CQA and RND.
• Monthly stock closing of all plants by ensuring PO closing and appropriate approvals taken before stock taking.

Quality Control & Compliance 100%:

• Ensure all milk and dairy products meet the companys quality standards and comply with local and international regulatory requirements.
• Work with the quality assurance team to implement and maintain strict hygiene and safety protocols throughout the plants.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability guidelines.
• Ensure customer complaints NIL and responding closing CC within 48 hours.

Production Optimization and achieving OTIF by 99.07%:

• Identify and implement strategies to optimize production efficiency while maintaining product quality.
• Lead efforts to improve throughput and reduce waste across the plants.
• Continuously monitor plant performance, tracking key metrics like yield, downtime, and energy consumption.

Cost Management & Budgeting for the year 2026 with a 15% reduction from the 2025 closing cost:

• Develop and manage plant budgets, ensuring cost-effective production without compromising product quality.
• Optimize production costs at Erode, focusing on labour, energy consumption as per energy audit team recommendation, and packaging costs (especially related to Tetra Pak & PMS, FM, MILK PROCESSING, BUTTER, GHEE and SMP).
• Ensure Milk Packing plants conversion cost as per Mgt alignment.
• Continuously evaluate and implement cost-saving initiatives to remain competitive in the market.
• Regularly report on plant performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, efficiency, cost per unit, and profitability.

Team Leadership & Development:

• Attrition must be less.
• Lead, mentor, and develop plant managers and staff to drive performance and meet production goals.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and employee engagement.
• Establish training programs to enhance technical skills and leadership capabilities within the team.
• Establishing TPM culture.

Supply Chain & Inventory Management:

• As per Business requirement.
• Work closely with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and finished products.
• Oversee inventory management, ensuring that stock levels are optimized and production is not disrupted by supply chain bottlenecks.

Technology Integration & Innovation:

• Stay abreast of technological advancements in milk production and processing, including automation, packaging innovations (e.g., Tetra Pak), and energy-efficient processes.
• IOT integration and open data visibility through system.

Customer & Stakeholder Relationships:

• By measuring satisfaction index.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through timely delivery of high-quality products.
