Assistant Vice President - Legal

Key Responsibilities:

1.Formulating legal strategy:

a) Devise legal recovery strategies for high-value and aging cases across retail and corporate loan portfolios.

b) Engage in negotiations and settlements where appropriate to maximize recovery.

2.Litigation Management:

a) Lead and manage litigation efforts, both civil and criminal, across various legal forums including DRT, NCLT, DM/CMM, and appellate courts.

b) Ensure timely and strategic legal actions for recovery of dues and enforcement of security interests.

3.Legal Drafting & Advisory:

a) Review and vet documents relating to assignment of loans, recovery notices, SARFAESI notices, pleadings (plaints, written statements, affidavits, replies, petitions), and settlement agreements.

b) Provide legal opinions and risk assessments on matters pertaining to SARFAESI Act, DRT Act, IBC 2016, and other laws relevant to banking and finance.

4.Team Leadership & Coordination:

a) Lead a team of legal professionals; ensure effective coordination with internal stakeholders and external counsels.

b) Collaborate with the President – Legal and senior management for strategic case management.

5.Stakeholder Engagement:

a) Build and maintain strong relationships within the litigation ecosystem, including senior advocates, judicial officers, and legal consultants.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Qualification: LLB / LLM
• Experience: 10-15 years in legal practice with a strong focus on litigation, recoveries, and enforcement actions in the financial services sector.
