Job Description
Location: Kochi (in-office, full-time) Experience: 2 years Compensation: 50,000 – 60,000 / month Reports to: Founder
The problem were solvingIndia has 260 million school-going children — and millions more in college — who make life-defining choices about which stream, which course, which path, without ever being shown whats actually possible.
This isnt just a school problem anymore. NEP 2020 made career guidance a core part of schooling, and CBSE has now revised its affiliation rules to make appointing a career counsellor mandatory — guidance is expected to begin as early as Class 6. But schools have almost no infrastructure to deliver it, and college students hit the same wall again at the next fork in the road. The gap between policy and reality is enormous.
Thats where we come in.
About FutureReadyFutureReady is a career-discovery platform for young minds — from school students aged 10–16 to college students figuring out their next move. We help them explore future-proof paths before they get boxed into decisions that are hard to reverse.
Were not an assessment tool. Were not a coaching platform. Were building the layer that should have existed between a young persons curiosity and their future — and making it accessible to every school, every college, every parent, every kid.
The engine is built. The model is designed. Were at the stage where execution is what separates a good idea from something that reaches millions. Thats the stage youd be joining.
The roleWere hiring our Founders Office — Talent & Ops: the person who works alongside the founder to build the team, open doors with schools and colleges, and keep the company running smoothly.
Recruiting is your home base — its the most urgent thing we need to get right. But because were early, the person who hires our first teammates also needs to understand how we sell and how we run, because you cant recruit well for a company you dont understand. Thats why this role is deliberately wide: roughly 40% Talent Acquisition, 30% Business Development, 30% Operations.
You wont do three jobs badly. Youll start anchored in hiring, then layer in BD and operations over your first few months. By the end of your first year youll have touched recruiting, sales, and operations — the kind of range most people take five years to get near.
This is an in-office role in Kochi, and being in the room is part of the point. Youll sit close to the founder, see how decisions actually get made, and own real outcomes rather than tasks.
What youll ownTalent Acquisition (40%)
- Run the full hiring funnel for our early roles — writing JDs, sourcing, first-round screens, scheduling founder rounds, managing offers and onboarding.
- Build hiring as a system: maintain a clean candidate tracker, report a simple weekly funnel (sourced screened offered joined), and keep time-to-hire honest.
- Own the basics of our employer brand — careers page, job posts, and campus/college partnerships for early talent.
Business Development (30%)
- Own top-of-funnel for school and college partnerships: build the target list, run cold outreach, and book intro conversations with principals and placement cells.
- Keep the pipeline and CRM clean and honest — nobody does this well at our stage, so its genuinely yours to own.
- Support the founder on partnership decks and follow-ups early on, and grow into owning smaller deals end-to-end.
Operations (30%)
- Keep the company running: tools and SaaS admin, vendor coordination, basic finance ops (invoices, reimbursements, payroll inputs), and event logistics.
- Own the rhythm — standups, simple goal-tracking, documentation — so the founder isnt the bottleneck.
- Take on the special projects that dont fit neatly anywhere. There will always be some, and theyre often the most important work of the week.
- By day 30: Youve taken over the hiring tracker, posted and started sourcing for our open roles, and mapped your first list of target schools/colleges.
- By day 60: Youve moved candidates through to founder rounds, made your first BD outreach, and tidied up one or two operational messes that were slowing us down.
- By day 90: Youve helped close your first hires, booked real partnership conversations, and become the person the team goes to when something needs to get done.
- 2 years in a role with real human interaction and ownership — recruiting, sales/BD, account management, operations, agency, or startup generalist work. We care more about evidence that youve owned an outcome than about a pure-recruiting pedigree.
- Evidence of ownership. Youve taken something end-to-end where no one handed you the playbook, and you can point to the result.
- Resourcefulness. Youve gotten things done with little budget, few tools, and no one to ask. You find the answer, the contact, the workaround yourself.
- Comfort with numbers. You can name a number from your last role youre proud of and explain how you moved it.
- Range and low ego. Youre equally fine on a partnership call and updating a tracker, and you dont think any useful task is beneath you.
- Strong communication in English (Malayalam is a real plus for local sourcing and outreach), and the judgment to know what to handle yourself versus what to escalate.
- Youre genuinely happy being in-office in Kochi, and you actually care about the problem — helping young Indians make better choices about their futures.
Nice to have (but we wont gate on these): prior startup, edtech, or founders office exposure; familiarity with an ATS, CRM, or Notion; an existing network in Keralas school/college ecosystem.
What you get- A seat next to the founder. Direct, daily work on hiring, sales, and strategy — the kind of access most people your age wait years for.
- Career compression. Youll build skills across three functions in 18 months that usually take five years to touch. That range and the network that comes with it are yours to keep.
- A real growth path. This role is the natural seed for a Talent or Ops lead position as we scale — wed rather promote the person who built it. Comp grows with proven ownership, and ESOPs are on the table for people who earn them over time. We wont dangle a title we cant back; wed rather under-promise and over-deliver.
- A mission that matters. A genuine shot at helping millions of Indian students make better choices about their futures.
Compensation: 50,000 – 60,000 / month, with a check-in at six months tied to clear goals. At this band youre at the top of the Kochi market for your experience — wed rather pay fairly and ask a lot than the reverse.
