Finance Controller - CA

What You'll Do:

• Own month-end close and financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow), and build the monthly MIS pack - actuals vs. budget, with commentary founders can act on.
• Find and fix leakages in accounting and operations - reconcile what should match, investigate the gap and fix the root cause.
• Reconcile revenue end to end - orders billed vs. collected vs. booked; chase unbilled work, credit notes, write-offs, inventory.
• Run unit economics and margin analysis (cost per test/order, contribution margin, channel profitability); lead annual budgeting and a rolling forecast, flagging deviations early.
• Manage cash flow, runway, working capital, AP/AR ageing.
• Own GST, TDS, income tax, ROC and payroll statutory compliance (PF, ESIC, PT); manage statutory and internal audits.
• Plug tax and cost leakage - unclaimed GST input credit, GSTR-2B mismatches, TDS defaults, avoidable interest and penalties, idle bank charges.
• Put SOPs and financial controls in place so problems don't repeat - expense policy, approval limits, vendor contract review before signing, and insurance renewals.

What We're Looking for:

• CA with 3 - 6 years experience post-qualification.
• Strong MIS, budgeting, and analysis skills.
• Solid on GST, TDS; hands-on with Accounting/ERP software.
• Startup experience - comfortable with ambiguity and doing the work yourself.
• Curious about the business - asks why the number moved, not just what it is
