Job Description
Senior Software Engineer – Workflow (.NET) | Global Employer Services Technology Center (GESTC)
We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the Workflow team within Deloitte Tax in India’s Global Employer Services Technology Center (GESTC). You will design, build, and support the workflow automation capabilities of the GES platform using .NET / C#, REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven integration with Kafka, helping streamline business processes, modernize existing components, and deliver reliable, reusable platform services.
The ideal candidate brings 8 to 12 years of hands-on .NET development experience, including meaningful exposure to workflow or business process automation. You have strong engineering fundamentals, work well independently with minimal supervision, and collaborate and communicate effectively with your own team, other product teams, business users, and global delivery partners.
Experience with Pega or other workflow and low-code platforms (such as ServiceNow, Appian, or Salesforce), as well as AI engineering, Python, and AWS cloud technologies, is a plus and will help you stand out.
Key job responsibilities:
- Own the design and delivery of small to medium complexity workflow automation modules end to end, from technical design and estimation through development, testing, deployment support, and production support.
- Build services and components using .NET / .NET Core / C#.
- Design and consume REST APIs and microservices across internal and external platforms.
- Develop event-driven integration pipelines using Kafka or similar messaging technologies.
- Implement workflow capabilities such as process state management, routing and approvals, business rules, SLAs, and notifications.
- Analyze and resolve production defects, performing root-cause analysis and driving fixes that prevent recurrence.
- Conduct code and design reviews for peer engineers, and ensure adherence to engineering standards, CI/CD practices, and application security requirements.
- Improve application stability, performance, and maintainability, and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices.
- Contribute to solution architecture discussions, particularly for workflow, integration, and reusable platform components.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, Technical Program Managers, Engineering Managers, business stakeholders, and global delivery teams.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers within the team.
- Take ownership of assigned modules and workstreams, solving problems independently with minimal supervision.
- Support modernization and innovation efforts, including AI-assisted code generation, AI-enabled automation, and AWS cloud-native services, where applicable.
