Finance Officer

Chartered Accountant (CA) with 12 15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in a university or higher education institution.

• Supervise day-to-day financial operations including accounting, payroll, procurement, and treasury functions.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and recommend cost-saving and performance-improving measures.
• Advise senior leadership on financial planning, forecasting, and long-term investments strategies.
• Lead financial risk management and mitigation plans.
• Formulate and implement financial strategies aligned with the Universitys vision and goals.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements including taxation, audits, and financial reporting standards.
• Ensure timely and accurate tax planning, filing, and compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors; ensure timely completion of audits.
• Oversee annual budget preparation and ensure effective monitoring and control.
• Present financial performance to the Board of Governors and provide actionable insights to improve financial performance.
• Lead and mentor the finance team to enhance performance and develop professional capabilities.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, integrity, and financial discipline.
• Collaborate with academic and administrative heads to align financial operations with institutional needs.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with banks, funding agencies, regulatory bodies, and government authorities.

• Experience with ERP systems and financial software
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Familiarity with UGC/AICTE and other regulatory compliance in higher education.
• Ability to handle multiple stakeholders and deliver in a dynamic academic environment.
