The Senior Accountant is the engine of Glimmer's transactional finance function. Reporting to the Finance Controller, this role is responsible for managing the full cycle of accounts receivable and payable, complex accounting entries, and statutory compliance, while also supervising and developing the Junior Accountant. Given Glimmer's mix of domestic and international clients, this position demands technical accuracy, ownership of compliance timelines, and the discipline to maintain clean, reliable financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable & Invoicing:

  • Manage customer invoicing end-to-end, including for international clients, ensuring accuracy of billing data and revenue recognition.
  • Track and follow up on outstanding receivables, maintain an ageing summary, and escalate overdue accounts.
  • Coordinate with the sales and customer success teams to resolve billing queries and discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all customer transactions and contracts.

Accounts Payable & Vendor Management:

  • Oversee the end-to-end vendor payment cycle including invoice verification, approval, and disbursement.
  • Maintain the accounts payable ledger and ensure timely payment of all vendor and operational expenses.
  • Manage vendor records, payment terms, and resolve discrepancies in coordination with relevant teams.

Accounting & Reconciliation:

  • Handle complex accounting entries, journal postings, and period-end adjustments.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure alignment with the general ledger.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations across all key accounts and ensure clean, auditable records.
  • Support the Finance Controller in month-end close activities, MIS preparation, and financial reporting.

Statutory Compliance:

  • Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) accurately and within regulatory timelines.
  • Manage TDS deductions, challan payments, and quarterly TDS return filings.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Indian accounting standards and statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate with external consultants and auditors during statutory audits and assessments.

Team Supervision:

  • Supervise and review the work of the Junior Accountant on a day-to-day basis.
  • Provide guidance, training, and quality checks to ensure accurate and timely transaction processing.
  • Allocate work within the junior team and ensure coverage across all transactional areas.

Required Qualifications:

Education & Certifications:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or CA Inter, mandatory.
  • B.Com or M.Com as an undergraduate qualification.

Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting roles, preferably within a technology company or product-led organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing GST and TDS compliance independently.
  • Prior experience handling international invoicing and multi-currency accounting is preferred.
  • Exposure to ERP or cloud-based accounting platforms (e.g., Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Tally, or equivalent).

Technical Competencies:

  • Strong working knowledge of Ind AS and Indian accounting practices.
  • Hands-on expertise in GST law, TDS provisions, and direct tax compliance.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including reconciliation templates, pivot tables, and data management.
  • Experience with accounting software and a comfort with technology-driven finance workflows.
  • Ability to produce clean, structured financial schedules and supporting documentation.

Leadership & Soft Skills:

  • High attention to detail and a zero-tolerance approach to inaccuracy.
  • Ownership mindset; able to manage timelines and deliverables independently.
  • Clear communicator, both with team members and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Collaborative team player who can also take charge of their own workstream.
