Data Engineer (Abu Dhabi - on-site)

A leading global investment organization is seeking a Data Engineer to build and maintain robust data platforms supporting trading, analytics, and investment decision-making. The role involves working closely with trading and technology teams on complex financial datasets and time-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain referential data platforms, including ETL pipelines and APIs for integrating external vendor data
• Design and support fixed income reference data models for trading teams, covering corporate, government, municipal, mortgage, and convertible bonds, as well as US Treasuries
• Enhance derivatives data models supporting trading workflows, including FX forwards, NDFs, interest rate and inflation swaps, and credit derivatives
• Optimize data processing performance, significantly improving batch and market data workflows
• Build reusable, protocol-agnostic data ingestion tools in Python
• Provide on-call support for market events, corporate actions, and critical data updates
• Own and maintain trading calendar APIs and index composition data from third-party providers

• Strong experience in data engineering, SQL, and Python
• Experience designing data models for capital markets or trading systems
• Familiarity with ETL frameworks, APIs, and cloud-based data platforms
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in a high-availability environment
