Job Title : Manager Project Engineering
Reporting To : Head - Engineering & Projects

Purpose of the Position:
To Successfully Plan , Execute and Handover Safely all the planned Engineering Projects by implementing the Project Management phases with Good Engineering practices at Evonik.
Key Responsibilities :

• Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project.
• Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project.
• Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with Key Influencers for the project (Clients, Architects, Consultants, etc.) in order to achieve project milestones (execution / financial) ahead of time
• Manage the activities such as engineering, design, procurement and construction with respect to the project schedules for sub-vendors and project staff.
• Managing Overall project technical aspects and resolve potential project conflicts.
• Utilize project management methodologies, systems and tools as defined by Company.
• Execute the project according to the project plan.
  
• Develop forms and records to document project activities.
• Set up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured
• Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.
• Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards.
• Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase.
• Providing direction to the project staff and contractors that are engaged on the project to ensure the coordinated delivery of project outcomes.
• Ensure effective Implementation of QMS as per ISO 9001:2015 in the department in order to achieve set objectives.
• Ensure safety norms are strictly followed.
• Should have total hands-on experience in Core Project Management, Strategic, Green Field & Process Optimization Projects. He should be able to understand the production/process better.
  

Education, Certification And/or Relevant Experience Required

• BE in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering with minimum 7-8 years of experience into handling & managing core projects.
  

Additional skills and abilities required for this position:

• Uses clear and effective verbal communications skills to express ideas, request actions and formulate plans or policies.
• Works under Managers at an elementary level to review and create relevant, lucid, and effective reports.
• Identifies, assesses, prioritizes, and manages risks in a production process at an elementary level, under supervision
• To adhere and monitor that all required safety standards are followed in plant as per process requirement.
  

Technical Knowledge

• Sound Technical knowledge of Project Management, Should able to participate in deciding technical specifications of Chemical plant equipments such as pumps, Rectors, Heat Exchangers, Incinerators, Driers. Etc.
• Should also require to have experience in Plant Engineering, Contractor Management, Risk Based /Reliability Centered Maintenance.
• Should have strong knowledge to read & develop the process P&ID, Plant Lay Out, Project Implementation steps from Concept, Basic , Detail & construction engineering.
• Should have updated knowledge about the Industry 4.0 along with the skill to utilize/implement the same during Project Discussion.
• Basic knowledge of Environmental protection units and legal requirements applicable for site.D. Others (if required by the position)
• Ability to adapt changes and support function requirement
