Job Description

Role: Head of HR (People & Culture)
Reporting To: CHRO, India & SA
Experience: 14-18 Years
Location: IT Park, Pune (India)
Working Model: 5 Days Working (On-site / Hybrid as per business requirements)
Travel: Up to 15-20% across India and South Asia
About the Company :
Our client is a leading global technology organization headquartered in the USA, specializing in Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Business Intelligence, and Digital Transformation solutions.With a strong global footprint, the organization is building and scaling its Global Capability Center (GCC) in India as a strategic hub to drive innovation, product engineering, and digital excellence.
Role Overview :
- We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director - HR & People to lead the people function for the India GCC. This role will be instrumental in shaping and executing the HR strategy to support rapid growth, capability building, and organizational transformation.
- The incumbent will partner closely with global and local leadership to build a high-performance, future-ready workforce while ensuring excellence in HR delivery, governance, and employee experience.
Key Responsibilities :
Strategic HR Business Partnering :
- Partner with senior leadership to align people strategy with business growth, product innovation, and digital transformation priorities.
- Act as a trusted advisor on workforce planning, organizational design, and talent decisions.
- Translate business objectives into scalable HR strategies and actionable plans.
People & Culture :

- Drive a high-performance, inclusive, and innovation-led culture aligned with global values.
- Lead change management and cultural transformation initiatives in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
- Enhance employee engagement, experience, and retention through forward-thinking programs.
Talent Strategy & Leadership Development :
- Lead strategic talent acquisition for niche digital and product engineering roles within the GCC ecosystem.
- Build leadership pipelines, succession frameworks, and future skills capability models.

- Coach and mentor leaders to strengthen leadership effectiveness and team performance.
HR Transformation & Digital Ennoblement :
- Drive HR digital transformation through HRIS / HRMS platforms, automation, and self-service solutions.
- Leverage AI-driven analytics and workforce insights to enable data-driven decision-making.
- Implement scalable HR frameworks aligned with global best practices.
Performance, Rewards & Engagement :
- Oversee performance management processes including goal setting, reviews, and development planning.
- Support compensation and total rewards strategies to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity.
- Lead employee engagement, well-being, and retention initiatives to build a resilient workforce.
Governance, Compliance & Employee Relations :
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulatory requirements, and corporate governance standards.
- Manage employee relations, grievance handling, and conflict resolution effectively.
- Support industrial relations where applicable, ensuring a stable and compliant work environment.
Operational Excellence & Delivery :

- Lead HR operations across multiple GCC locations, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and consistency.


- Collaborate with global HR teams and Centers of Excellence (CoEs) for seamless delivery.
- Evaluate and manage vendor partnerships and outsourcing initiatives.
Financial & Resource Management :

- Support HR budgeting, workforce cost planning, and resource optimization.
- Track and analyze HR metrics to drive efficiency, productivity, and ROI.

- Solid business acumen with a strategic and data-driven mindset.
- Proven experience in HR business partnering within GCCs, Global Software Product companies, or Digital/Technology organizations.
- Experience managing multi-location HR operations in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with expertise in people analytics and data visualization.
- Hands-on experience with HR technologies (HRIS/HRMS) and digital HR tools.
- Expertise in organizational development, change management, and workforce planning.
- High adaptability, resilience, and ability to manage complexity and ambiguity.
- Strong project management and execution capabilities.
Experience Requirement :
- 14 to 18 years of progressive HR experience with strong HR Business Partnering exposure
- 7+ years in leadership roles managing teams and/or multiple locations
- Prior experience in GCCs, Global Product Engineering, Cloud, AI/ML, or Digital Transformation organizations is highly preferred
- Experience working with global stakeholders and senior leadership teams

Candidate Profile & Preferences :
Age Bracket: Up to 45 years (preferred)
Stability : Demonstrated career stability with a consistent track record of minimum 3+ years tenure with the same employer or within the same industry
Industry Alignment : Strong preference for candidates from GCC, Global Product, Cloud, AI/ML, Data Analytics, Offshore Development Center Engineering Innovation Center or Digital Transformation organizations.
