Data Scientist (AI & Advanced Analytics)

About The Opportunity

We operate in the fragrance and personal-care manufacturing sector, serving global consumer and B2B markets with high-quality scent formulations and aromatic ingredients. The role is embedded in an on-site analytics team focused on translating sensory, production, and commercial data into product and supply-chain improvements.

This Data Scientist role is based in India and sits within the R&D / Analytics function of a leading fragrance manufacturerworking closely with formulation chemists, supply chain, and commercial teams to deliver measurable business impact.

Role & Responsibilities

• Develop and validate predictive models for demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and sales uplift using production, sales, and sensory datasets.
• Analyze sensory and consumer-preference data to identify formulation drivers and recommend data-led product changes to R&D.
• Design and evaluate experiments (A/B tests, sensory panels), interpret results, and translate them into actionable business recommendations.
• Build and maintain ETL pipelines and feature engineering workflows to ensure high-quality, reproducible datasets for modelling.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain production ML models; implement performance dashboards and automated retraining triggers to manage model drift.
• Present insights and model outputs through dashboards and concise reports to cross-functional stakeholders (R&D, Supply Chain, Sales) to drive decisions.

• Ability to work on-site in India and collaborate directly with laboratory and production teams.
