Industry: Steel & Mining / Sponge Iron Manufacturing

Reporting to: Managing Director / Board of Directors

Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned financial leader to oversee the entire financial operations of our Sponge Iron plant. You will be responsible for financial strategy, cost control, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder management. Given the nature of the industry, a strong command of working capital cycles, inventory management, and mining-related taxation/royalties is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy & Planning:

• Develop and execute long-term financial plans to support plant expansion and operational efficiency.

Operational Cost Control:

• Monitor unit-level costs (raw materials, energy, logistics) to ensure margins are protected in a volatile commodity market.

Working Capital Management:

• Manage cash flow, trade credit, and inventory levels (iron ore, coal, sponge iron) to ensure smooth plant operations.

Compliance & Taxation:

• Ensure strict adherence to GST, corporate tax, and industry-specific mining royalties/levies applicable in Jharkhand.

Audit & Reporting:

• Lead internal and external audits; provide transparent financial reporting to the Board.

Fund Management:

• Handle banking relationships, credit facilities, and hedging strategies for raw material procurement.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Educational Background:

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA (Finance) from a premier institution.

Experience:

• 10-15 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the Manufacturing or Steel/Sponge Iron sector.

Technical Proficiency:

• Deep understanding of ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Tally Prime), financial modeling, and cost accounting.

Soft Skills:

• Ability to work in a demanding, on-site plant environment.
• Strong local networking ability (knowledge of Jharkhand's regulatory landscape is a significant advantage).
• High level of integrity and strategic mindset.
