How Youll Make An Impact

• Remote monitoring and support for computer jobs/processes running on Windows servers located in US, UK and Canada. The jobs primarily involve accessing data stored on Oracle or MS SQL Server databases. Three shifts will be scheduled to provide 16-hour coverage.
• Monitor automated jobs and intervene as required
• Work with production support manager to investigate job incidents
• Run jobs based on specific events
• Maintain operations logs
• Review accuracy of pending automated jobs
• Provide statistics and reporting on job activity
• Troubleshoot data file transfers
• Create and maintain computer jobs using various tools and custom
• applications
• Create and update supporting documentation for jobs
• 
  Validate data interfaces by running jobs in test environment
  

About You

• Understanding of computer concepts and operations
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and related principles (e.g. network security, application errors and exit codes, INI and XML configuration files)
• Ability to create scripts (DOS, JScript, VBScript, Powershell) and automated processes a definite asset
• Prior experience with ActiveBatch or similar software such as BMC Control-M, Tidal, CA AutoSys a definite asset
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent oral and written skills
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Basic understanding of networking and protocols (e.g. FTP, SFTP, FTPS, SMTP)
• Basic SQL with Oracle and/or MS SQL Server
• Understanding of PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) concepts
