About The Role
We are hiring a Data Engineer (G6) to design, build, and maintain cloud-based data pipelines that enable business insights across Gap Inc.s global operations. This role is hands-on, focused on developing scalable data solutions, supporting analytics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate thrives on solving complex data problems, working with modern cloud platforms, and contributing to a growing data engineering ecosystem.
What Youll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to integrate data from multiple business applications.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Solution Architects, and business teams to understand and fulfill data requirements.
• Implement best practices in coding, testing, and automation.
• Support data quality, governance, and access control initiatives.
• Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
• Assist in monitoring pipeline performance and resolving data issues.
• Recommend improvements to data processes and platform capabilities.
  

Who You Are

• 47 years of experience in Data Engineering or related roles.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based platforms:
• Azure: Databricks, PySpark, Data Lake, ADF
• Or equivalent GCP stack: BigQuery, Dataflow, Composer, etc.
• Proficiency in Python, Linux scripting, and building scalable data pipelines.
• Familiarity with relational on-relational databases, data streams, and file stores.
• Experience with version control and CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins).
• Graduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with BIeporting tools (Power BI, MicroStrategy).
