Job Description
- As a Tech Director - JAVA of Expert-Level at Globant, you will play a critical role in helping our business partners evolve and adapt to consumers" personalized expectations in this new technological era. With a deep understanding of modern microservices architectures, RESTful API design, and event-driven systems like Kafka and RabbitMQ, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and deploying high-quality, robust Java-based microservices adhering to best practices and standards. Your role will involve collaborating with architects, business analysts, and quality assurance teams to ensure that the new services meet business requirements and technical standards. You will also participate actively in agile development processes, drive large-scale projects with a deep understanding of Agile SDLC, and provide leadership to your team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze legacy monolithic applications and design strategies for decomposing and re-architecting into Java microservices
- Develop, test, and deploy Java-based microservices following best practices
- Containerize applications using Docker and manage deployments through Kubernetes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure new services meet business requirements
- Drive large-scale projects with Agile SDLC principles
- Work on RFP/RFIs and provide solutions for Enterprise Applications
- Mentor and coach a team of tech leads, managers, and architects
- Formulate and execute strategic and tactical measures for team success
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- 15+ years of professional Java software development experience
- Experience migrating legacy monolithic systems into modern microservices-based architectures
- Proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience deploying applications on-premises and in cloud environments, especially Azure
- Familiarity with proprietary language transpilers or code interpreters
- Previous experience in commercial lending or related financial services domains is a plus
