Job Description
- As a Tech Director - JAVA at Globant, you will play a critical role in helping business partners evolve and adapt to consumers" personalized expectations in this new technological era. With your expert-level skills and competencies, you will contribute to large-scale projects in the region, drive digital transformation, and formulate strategic measures to ensure the success of your teams.
**Role Overview:**
You will be responsible for analyzing legacy monolithic applications, designing strategies for decomposing and re-architecting into Java microservices, developing high-quality Java-based microservices, and containerizing applications using Docker and managing deployments through Kubernetes.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Mentor and coach a team of tech leads, managers, and architects
- Formulate and execute strategic and tactical measures for team success
- Hunt and farm new avenues for business growth within accounts
- Collaborate with Business Units (Accounts) and delivery centers globally
- Ensure designs and standards are extensible across projects
- Conduct technical design reviews and audit projects for best practices
**Qualifications Required:**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 15+ years of professional Java software development experience
- Experience in migrating legacy systems to microservices architectures
- Expertise in Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience deploying applications to on-premises and cloud infrastructures, especially Azure
- Familiarity with proprietary language transpilers is advantageous
- Previous experience in commercial lending or financial services domains is a plus
