Job Description

As a member of the Internal Audit Engineering team within the Core Engineering Team at Goldman Sachs, you will play a crucial role in ensuring effective controls are maintained by assessing the reliability of financial reports, monitoring compliance with laws and regulations, and advising on smart control solutions. Your work will provide unique insights into the financial industry and its operations, as Internal Audit Engineering owns systems that address the firm's Auditing needs.
Currently, we are focused on initiatives to develop new and innovative solutions while re-engineering existing systems and applications. The team is actively engaged in business transformation projects aimed at automating workflows and redefining the Audit process at Goldman Sachs.
We are seeking detail-oriented team players with a keen interest in financial markets who can meet the demands of our challenging mandate. The ideal candidate should have a passion for learning, deep technical competencies, and experience across various technical domains. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be expected to contribute reasoned views and opinions in team forums, both technically and on the Agile team's performance.
**Responsibilities:**
- Gain satisfaction by adding value to the team's initiatives
- Propose, design, and implement software solutions to enhance services and enable new business functions
- Participate in architecture and design discussions, design reviews
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to develop data feeds
- Support and enhance applications to meet new requirements
**Skills and Experience Required:**
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 2 years of application development engineering experience
- Proficiency in Java programming and software development
- Experience in building transactional systems and strong software architecture understanding
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with team members
- Front-end web-stack development experience
**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Experience with Microservice architecture
- Proficiency in React and Angular
- Familiarity with Spring, Hibernate, Rabbit MQ, Hazelcast
- Experience with Gitlab and Kubernetes
- Basic PL-SQL knowledge for data analysis
- Previous experience in a financial institution
- Understanding of Test Driven Development
- Conceptual knowledge of Asynchronous-Event-based processing
- Agile methodology experience
