Summary
- The Wintel Engineer – Associate is responsible for the day-to-day administration, monitoring, and support of Windows-based server environments, including on‑premises virtualized infrastructure and cloud-hosted Windows servers. This role focuses on operational execution, incident support, and maintenance activities across Hypervisor platforms, virtual servers, and cloud server (OSI) environments.
- The Associate works under established standards and guidance from senior engineers while developing strong hands-on expertise in Windows infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud server operations.
Responsibilities
· Administer and support Windows Server environments including Active Directory services across on‑premises and cloud platforms
· Perform routine server administration tasks including:
o Server provisioning and decommissioning
o Patch management and updates
o User and access administration
· Support virtualized infrastructure using Hyper‑V, VMware, or equivalent hypervisors
· Monitor server health, availability, and performance using enterprise monitoring tools
· Respond to incidents, s, and service requests within defined SLAs
· Assist with troubleshooting OS‑level, performance, and connectivity issues
· Support cloud‑hosted Windows servers (IaaS / OSI models) in Azure and/or AWS
· Follow security standards including hardening, antivirus, and vulnerability remediation
· Maintain system documentation, runbooks, and configuration records
· Collaborate with storage, network, cloud, and application teams
Skills
· Technical Skills
o Hands-on experience with Windows Server administration
o Working knowledge of:
§ Virtualization technologies (Hyper‑V, VMware)
§ Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
o Basic exposure to cloud IaaS Windows servers (Azure / AWS)
o Understanding of patching, monitoring, and backup concepts
o Familiarity with basic scripting (PowerShell preferred)
o Awareness of OS security and hardening best practices

o Ability to follow defined processes and procedures
o Clear communication and documentation skills
o Willingness to learn and grow in cloud and virtualization technologies
Education / Professional Experience/ Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
· 2–4 years of experience in Windows server or infrastructure support roles
· Microsoft Windows Server or Azure Fundamentals certifications (preferred)
· ITIL certification is a plus
