Oracle Database Cloud Service Administrator

Key Responsibilities

DBCS Administration: Your role will involve provisioning, configuring, and maintaining Oracle Database Cloud Service instances to meet business requirements.

Performance Tuning and Optimization: Monitor and optimize database performance to enhance efficiency and responsiveness. Implement best practices for tuning and optimization to ensure optimal operation.

Backup and Recovery: Design and implement backup and recovery strategies for Oracle DBCS instances. Regularly perform backups to maintain data integrity and availability.

Security Management: Implement and maintain database security policies, manage user access, roles, and privileges, and ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.

Patch Management: Apply patches, updates, and upgrades to Oracle DBCS environments while minimizing downtime and operational impact. Plan and execute patching activities effectively.

Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Set up monitoring tools to proactively monitor database performance and troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.

High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions for Oracle DBCS instances to ensure business continuity and data protection.

Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and operational guidelines. Prepare reports on database performance, usage, and capacity planning.

• Key Skills
• Your strong understanding of Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, and optimization techniques will be essential for this role.
• Experience in database backup and recovery strategies, proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL scripting languages, and knowledge of database security best practices are required.
• Familiarity with cloud computing principles and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills will enable you to diagnose and resolve database issues effectively.
• Effective communication skills are necessary for collaborating across teams and stakeholders.
• Education & Experience
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) is required.
• You should have a proven track record of 4+ years as an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA), with specific experience in Oracle Database Cloud Service (DBCS).
