Job Description
A Biomedical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all medical equipment. The role involves installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of biomedical devices, as well as providing technical support and training to healthcare staff. The candidate will contribute to innovation through research, development, and evaluation of new medical technologies, and play a key role in enhancing patient care.
Key Responsibilities:Equipment Management:- Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair biomedical equipment.
- Implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce equipment downtime.
- Manage biomedical equipment and related supplies inventory.
- Ensure all equipment adheres to health, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain records of compliance inspections and service documentation.
- Provide prompt technical support to healthcare staff.
- Conduct training sessions for staff on proper device usage and care.
- Participate in the design and development of new medical devices.
- Conduct research to improve performance, safety, and effectiveness of devices.
- Perform quality assurance checks and ensure optimal device performance.
- Work closely with doctors, nurses, and technicians to identify and resolve equipment-related issues.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, service providers, and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, calibrations, and contracts.
- Analyze performance data to detect trends and recommend improvements.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead projects and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Software Oriented: Comfortable using diagnostic tools, software platforms, and data analytics systems.
- Technology Awareness: Keen understanding of emerging biomedical technologies.
- Good Management Skills: Capable of handling multiple priorities, vendors, and technical teams efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field.
- [25+] years of relevant experience preferred.
- Experience with medical device software, diagnostics tools, and compliance standards (like ISO, NABH, etc.) is a plus.
