Assistant Manager - IT Infrastructure

The OpenText CMDB Technical Engineer will be responsible for hands-on administration, integration, and troubleshooting of the OpenText CMDB platform. This role ensures CI data accuracy, supports ITIL processes, and provides technical expertise for automation, compliance, and governance.

CMDB Design & Maintenance

AMX/SMAX -configuration and administration of asset lifecycle management including asset discovery and inventory tracking

UCMDB - Managed CI data population, reconciliation rules, and integration with AMX for CMDB accuracy

• Configure CI classes, attributes, and relationships.
• Perform audits, reconciliation, and health checks.
• Troubleshoot CI data issues and resolve discrepancies.
• Product version upgrade

SAM License Reconciliation

Entitlement Analysis Ability to interpret vendor license agreements, contracts, and entitlements to establish baseline compliance.

Usage Tracking Monitoring installed software across endpoints and servers, mapping usage data against entitlements.

Data Normalization Standardizing software titles, versions, and metrics to ensure accurate reconciliation across multiple vendors.

Reconciliation Reporting Building dashboards and compliance reports that highlight over-licensed, under-licensed, or non-compliant software.

Audit Readiness Preparing evidence for vendor audits, ensuring license documentation and usage records are aligned.

Data Integration & Automation

• Integrate CMDB with discovery, monitoring, and ITSM tools.
• Develop and maintain APIs, connectors, and import sets.
• Automate CI updates and synchronization across hybrid IT.

Governance & Compliance

• Enforce CMDB policies, standards, and procedures.
• Configuration of compliance report of assets and licenses
• Ensure ITIL compliance and audit readiness.
• Support vendor governance and license management.

Process Support

• Asset and License life cycle management.
• Support impact analysis and root cause investigations.
• Collaborate with ITSM teams to improve service delivery.

Reporting & Metrics

• Build dashboards and compliance reports.
• Track CMDB health and maturity metrics.
• Present insights to leadership and stakeholders.

• Reporting & Stakeholder Management
• Prepare MIS dashboards, KPI reports, governance packs, and executive presentations.
• Present operational metrics and compliance updates to senior leadership.
• Engage with business, technology, risk, audit, and vendor stakeholders.

• In depth knowledge of Open Text AMX/SMAX and UCMDB
• In depth knowledge of licence reconciliation and licenses management
• OpenText CMDB Administration (installation, upgrades, troubleshooting)
• Sound knowledge of PostgredSQL and Kubernetes for integrations & troubleshooting
• Universal Discovery Expertise (hybrid IT, cloud, on-premises)
• ITIL Framework Knowledge (Configuration, Change, and Asset Management)
