API / Consultant Specialist

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist

In this role, you will:

This role focuses on developing and maintaining Java and Spring Boot APIs and microservices and the supporting services that keep them running. It sits across the end-to-end delivery and run lifecycle, spanning software development, testing and operational support. You’ll work across modern cloud environments and tooling while helping strengthen software delivery practices across the engineering community. The role also connects closely with product owners, agile coaches and partner engineering teams to ship changes smoothly and address issues early. Success means reliable services, cleaner releases, strong monitoring and practical improvements to how teams build, deploy and operate software.

What you'll be doing

• Develop and maintain APIs and microservices in Java and Spring Boot across supporting services (AWS/PCF)
• Deliver software development, testing and operational support across the delivery and run lifecycle
• Improve the software delivery lifecycle through better design, maintenance and continuous improvement
• Partner with Ops, Dev and Test Engineers to identify and address operational issues across releases and changes
• Use monitoring and observability tooling such as Splunk, AppDynamics and Datadog to support service health
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, agile coaches and stakeholders to shape and evolve software products
• Contribute to the Engineering Discipline and associated communities to share practices and standards
• Advocate modern software development practices aligned to cyber security and regulations including data privacy, consent and data residency

What we're looking for

• Bring strong Java, Spring Boot, API and microservices development experience
• Apply cloud and container platform knowledge across AWS, Kubernetes and Docker
• Use engineering tools including Git, Jenkins, Pivotal Cloud, Jira, Confluence and debugging toolsets
• Apply monitoring expertise with tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics and Datadog
• Use standard testing and performance tools such as JMeter and Postman for APIs
• Demonstrate hands-on application security, memory management, threading and code quality practices
• Show experience building engineering culture in agile and DevOps environments including deployment and operation
• Influence stakeholders using clear reasoning and evidence-based recommendations
• Building reliable API services
