Job Description
Associate Product Manager 2 - Risk POD (OneRisk Platform) Looking to get Placed? Try our Placement Guarantee Plan
At IDfy, Risk isn't a spreadsheet - it's a living, breathing decision engine. Every day, banks, lenders, marketplaces, and enterprises use our risk products to decide who to trust, who to onboard, and who to flag.
This role sits inside the Risk POD, working across IDfy's Risk Platform (OneRisk) - AML screening, Instascreen, Netscan, Entity Risk, and Individual Risk. We're looking for someone who can pick up a module, own it end-to-end, and ship it: someone who executes cleanly, sweats the details, and doesn't need a lot of hand-holding to get from "here's the problem" to "here's what shipped."
We're the Right Match If You:
- Are hands-on - you'd rather be in the weeds fixing the actual problem than writing about it
- Have a strong track record of execution - you take a module from spec to release and see it through
- Show real ownership and accountability - things don't fall through the cracks on your watch
- Have a sharp eye for detail - you catch the edge case, the inconsistency, the thing that would've become a client escalation
- Are comfortable working with data - reading it, questioning it, using it to make a call (SQL/Excel proficiency is a strong plus, not a dealbreaker)
- Don't get rattled by ambiguity - you ask the right questions and get moving
Bonus points if you've been exposed to risk, fraud detection, AML/KYC workflows, or understand India's fintech/regulatory landscape (RBI, DPDP, KYC).
What Your Day Would Look Like:
- Owning execution of specific modules within IDfy's Risk Platform
- Working with Engineering to take features from spec to shipped, and making sure what ships actually works
- Joining client calls to understand issues, explain product behaviour, and help drive resolutions with clarity and confidence
- Digging into risk data and case outcomes to spot patterns, gaps, and improvement areas
- Running the last mile on quality - testing, catching edge cases, and making sure nothing slips through before release
- Keeping Engineering, Data, and Ops aligned on what needs to happen and by when
Why IDfy:
Because this is where trust is built with data. At IDfy, you'll work on:
- Real-world risk, fraud, and compliance problems that affect millions of decisions every day
- A homegrown AI-driven platform powering India's digital economy
- Products that influence lending, insurance, hiring, and onboarding at massive scale
- A team that moves fast, thinks deeply, and cares about outcomes
Interview Process & Competencies:
R1 - Hiring Manager:
Goal: Can this person execute independently and own a module end-to-end?
1. Ownership & Execution:
- Can describe a project or module they owned start to finish, including the messy parts
- Follows through without being chased - proactively flags blockers and closes loops
- Distinguishes "did the task" from "owned the outcome"
2. Attention to Detail:
- Catches inconsistencies, edge cases, or errors when walked through a sample problem
- Can describe a time a small detail they caught prevented a bigger issue
- Approach is structured and methodical - not just "I'm careful"
3. Communication & Client-Readiness:
- Can explain a technical or data concept clearly and simply
- Comfortable role-playing a client conversation - stays calm, doesn't waffle
- Listens for the actual question before answering
Goal: Can this person plug into the Risk Platform and be trusted with real modules?
1. Platform & Data Fluency:
- Can reason about how a risk module fits into a larger workflow - what feeds it, what it feeds
- Comfortable with data - can read a dataset or report and draw a sensible conclusion
- Asks good clarifying questions about how systems and signals behave
2. Structured Problem-Solving:
- Breaks a messy, real-world risk or client problem down into clear steps
- Moves from ambiguity to a concrete next action without over-indexing on speed or perfection
- Shows reasoning, not just gut calls
3. Delivery Discipline:
- Talks concretely about how they'd scope, sequence, and ship a module
- Understands the trade-off between speed and correctness in a risk-sensitive context
- Shows awareness of what "done and reliable" looks like, not just "done"
R3 - Function Head:
Goal: Culture, motivation, and offer fit
