Job Description
Position: Legal Executive- Gold Loan

Product: Gold Loan
1. Job Purpose
To manage end-to-end legal matters related to the Gold Loan business, including legal notices, court cases, police matters, labour disputes, litigation recovery, compliance, MIS reporting, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely resolution while minimizing legal risk and cost.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Legal Notices Management
- Issue all types of legal and demand notices within defined timelines as per business requirements.
- Draft and file replies to legal notices received against the company after obtaining necessary approvals from IRA/Legal Head.
- Maintain a structured Notice Tracker and preserve scanned records for audit and future reference.
B. Court Case Management
- Appoint advocates for cases filed by or against the company with prior approval from IRA/Legal Head.
- Monitor court proceedings on a date-to-date basis and ensure timely and effective representation.
- Ensure prompt disposal of cases through strategic follow-ups.
- Maintain complete case documentation for audit purposes.
- Publish monthly MIS and share updates with business and zonal teams.
- Conduct monthly review meetings with TMs/AMs/ZHs/Vigilance Team.
- Verify police notices and loan-related documents before gold seizure.
- Coordinate filing of ROP applications post approval.
- Review and approve legal documents related to third-party/death claim releases.
- Act as a single point of contact for gold loan legal matters across branches and vigilance teams.
C. Police Case Handling
- Provide prompt legal guidance to branches and internal teams in police-related matters.
- Draft and verify replies to police notices (Sec 91 CRPC / Sec 94 BNSS).
- Liaise with police authorities in FIRs and complaints, especially in chronic and high-value matters.
- Conduct field visits where required for resolution.
- Publish branch-wise and zonal legal MIS on a monthly basis.
- Organize monthly review meetings with vigilance and business teams.
D. Labour Court Matters
- Handle labour office complaints related to termination, recovery disputes, and employee grievances.
- Draft and submit written replies to labour authorities.
- Represent the company before Labour Officers.
- Appoint and coordinate with advocates in labour court cases after required approvals.
- Monitor proceedings and maintain records for compliance and audit.
E. Litigation & Recovery Management
- Initiate civil litigation or arbitration proceedings in loss cases or unrecovered gold loan cases post approval.
- Coordinate closely with stakeholders to maximize recovery.
- Negotiate settlement amounts for early case disposal.
- Ensure minimization of litigation costs at all stages.
- Negotiate professional fees with external counsels.
F. MIS & Reporting
- Publish accurate and updated monthly Legal MIS.
- Ensure timely reporting to HO Legal Team and business stakeholders.
- Maintain and update Litigation Management System with accurate data.
- Consolidate PAN India legal data as required.
G. Compliance & Governance
- Ensure strict adherence to Legal Manual and internal processes.

- Advocate/vendor appointment
- Issuing replies to legal/police notices
- Issuing LOA to employees
- Ensure documentation and compliance readiness for audits.
H. Stakeholder & Team Coordination
- Provide legal support to Customer Service, Nodal Officers, and cross-functional teams.
- Conduct branch visits to train and guide teams on handling legal escalations.
- Organize inter-zone review meetings for knowledge sharing and faster issue resolution.
- Assist peers in joint assignments and promote team collaboration.
- Conduct branch-level discussions to understand case backgrounds for effective court representation.
3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Timely issuance and reply of legal notices.
- Effective case monitoring and disposal rate.
- Accuracy and timeliness of MIS reporting.
- Reduction in litigation cost.
- Recovery maximization in loss cases.
- Compliance adherence and audit readiness.
- Effective stakeholder coordination and response time.
4. Qualifications & Experience
- LLB (Mandatory); LLM preferred.
- 24+ years of experience in litigation, preferably in BFSI/NBFC/Gold Loan sector.
- Strong knowledge of civil, criminal, labour laws, and recovery proceedings.
- Experience in handling police matters and regulatory notices.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
