Role Summary:
To lead and manage litigation and dispute resolution including consumer and criminal matters across jurisdictions in India, provide strategic legal advice, and support the organization in minimizing legal exposure while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Litigation & Dispute Resolution:
- Independently manage consumer litigation matters before consumer forums across India.
- Lead general litigation matters, including civil and criminal proceedings, across various courts.
- Develop and implement litigation strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Oversee case progress, ensure timely filings, and manage risks associated with ongoing disputes.
Legal Advisory:
- Advise internal stakeholders on contract law, aviation law, company law, FEMA, and related regulations.
- Provide practical, business-oriented legal solutions and risk assessments.

External Counsel Management:
- Engage, brief, and manage external counsel for litigation and advisory matters.
- Evaluate legal opinions and ensure consistency with company strategy.
- Monitor legal spend and optimize external counsel costs.
Risk & Compliance:
- Identify and mitigate legal risks across operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal governance frameworks.
Process Excellence:
- Strengthen litigation tracking, MIS, and internal SOPs.
- Improve turnaround time and efficiency in legal operations.
Key KPIs:
- Effective management and closure of litigation matters
- Adherence to timelines and quality of legal outputs
- Reduction in legal and regulatory risks
- Responsiveness to law enforcement matters
- External counsel efficiency and cost control
- Stakeholder satisfaction
Qualifications & Experience:
- LL.B. (LL.M. preferred), enrolled with Bar Council of India
- 12-16 years' experience with strong exposure to litigation (consumer + civil and/or criminal preferred)
- Experience in multi-jurisdictional matters; regulated sector experience is an advantage
- Experience in commercial contracting is an advantage.
