Vice President - Cyber Security SOC - BFSI

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of cybersecurity engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and execute the cybersecurity engineering strategy, aligning with overall business objectives and risk appetite.
• Oversee the design, architecture, and implementation of security controls, tools, and platforms, including but not limited to SIEM, EDR, DLP, IAM, vulnerability management, and cloud security solutions.
• Drive the adoption of secure development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices across engineering teams.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and other IT teams to integrate security into the entire technology stack.
• Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning, and oversee remediation efforts.
• Develop and maintain documentation for security architectures, configurations, and procedures.
• Participate in incident response activities, providing technical expertise and leadership during security incidents.
• Manage relationships with security vendors and evaluate new security products and services.
• Present security strategies, roadmaps, and incident summaries to senior leadership.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level security solutions.
• Deep understanding of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
• Expertise in cloud security principles and technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and application security.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
• Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or SANS GIAC are highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a high-performing technical team.
• Experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
