Job Summary
Iron Mountain is seeking an experienced Category Lead – Procurement to join our Data Center Procurement team. In this role, you will be responsible for directing strategic category management, leading a high-performing sourcing team, and securing mission-critical infrastructure to support data center construction and operational continuity. You will partner closely with engineering, project management, and executive stakeholders to optimize total cost of ownership and protect project delivery timelines across our growing data center footprint.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will:
- Lead Category Strategy and Sourcing Execution: Direct the development and execution of comprehensive category strategies for critical infrastructure—including power distribution, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) packages—to optimize total cost of ownership, mitigate supply constraints, and achieve annual savings targets.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Stakeholders: Partner closely with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, and Operations teams to align procurement milestones with project delivery roadmaps and proactively secure long-lead capital equipment.
- Ensure Governance and Commercial Risk Mitigation: Direct high-value contract negotiations, enforce procurement governance and delegated authority standards, and advance environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and supplier diversity initiatives across the supply chain.
What You'll Bring
The ideal candidate will have:
- 10+ years of progressive strategic sourcing and procurement experience within data centers, critical infrastructure, or engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) environments, including at least 3 years of direct people management experience.
- Strong knowledge of critical facility equipment and service categories, such as switchgear, generators, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, Building Management Systems (BMS), and facility maintenance contracts.
- Proven ability in executive-level commercial negotiations, total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, supplier performance management, and dispute resolution for high-risk contracts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related disciplineJ
