Head Of Design

Position Overview:-

As Head of Design, you will lead and oversee the Design department, managing a multidisciplinary team of architects, BIM specialists, Quantity Surveyors, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) engineers. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, innovative, and sustainable design solutions that exceed client expectations and align with the companys vision and values.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and implement the overall design strategy in alignment with company goals and objectives.
• Provide visionary leadership that inspires and motivates the design team towards design excellence.

Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and empower a multidisciplinary team of architects, BIM specialists, Quantity Surveyors, and MEP engineers.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and professional growth.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.

Project Management

• Oversee the design process end-to-end from concept development to project completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure effective communication and collaboration across the project lifecycle.
• Monitor project progress and proactively resolve design-related issues or challenges.

Design Excellence

• Set design standards and guidelines to maintain consistency and quality across all projects.
• Review and approve design concepts, drawings, and specifications for compliance with regulatory requirements and client expectations.
• Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in architecture, BIM, Quantity Survey, and MEP engineering.

Quality Assurance

• Establish and implement quality assurance processes to ensure design deliverables meet the highest standards of excellence and accuracy.
• Conduct regular reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Value Engineering

• Drive a continuous focus on cost reduction and process improvement across design deliverables.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field; professional licensure or certification preferred.
• 15+ years of overall experience, including 3–5 years in a senior leadership role within architecture or real estate, with a strong focus on design management.
• Extensive knowledge and expertise in architectural design, BIM technology, Quantity Survey, and MEP engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a diverse team of design professionals towards common goals.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Commitment to sustainability, innovation, and continuous improvement in design practices.
