Your impact
Job Summary
The Fire and Life Safety Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of fire and life safety systems for commercial buildings, industrial facilities, airports, tunnels, transportation infrastructure, healthcare facilities, and mixed-use developments. The role requires extensive knowledge of NBC, NFPA Codes and Standards, International Building Code (IBC), International Fire Code (IFC), and local regulations to ensure occupant safety and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Fire and Life Safety Design

• Evaluate building designs for compliance with
• NFPA Codes and Standards
• International Building Code (IBC)
• International Fire Code (IFC)
• Local fire authority regulations
• Client-specific fire safety requirements
• Conduct occupant load calculations and means of egress analysis.
• Review travel distances, exit capacities, refuge areas, and evacuation strategies.
• Develop and review life safety plans and code compliance reports.
• Revit and AutoCAD software knowledge
• Fire protection design will be plus
  

Fire Engineering Analysis

• Conduct fire risk assessments and hazard analysis.
• Assess fire scenarios and recommend mitigation measures.
• Evaluate smoke control and smoke management systems.
• Support performance-based fire engineering studies when applicable.
  

Multidisciplinary Coordination

• Coordinate with architects, mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil engineering teams.

  Get Hired
  Participate in design reviews and technical workshops.
• Interface with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to obtain approvals and permits.
• Provide technical guidance during project development and execution.
  

Heres what youll need
Required Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 4-12 years of experience in Fire and Life Safety Engineering.
• Strong understanding of life safety engineering.
• Experience in building, infrastructure, airport, tunnel, industrial, or data center projects
