Jhpiego is an international, non-profit health organization and an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University, dedicated to improving the health of women and families in developing countries. For over 50 years, it has focused on providing high-quality, low-cost health care solutions, training health workers, and strengthening health systems.
Jhpiego has been working in India since the 1980s in close partnership with national and state governments. With deep technical expertise and strong on-the-ground execution, Jhpiego helps design, test, and scale practical solutions and innovations that fit real-world systems across 11 thematic domains (Maternal and Newborn Health, Reproductive Health, Nutrition, Immunization, Comprehensive Primary Health Care, Human Resources for Health, TB and Infectious Diseases, Global Health Security, Womens Cancers, Non-Communicable Diseases, Digital Health).
Jhpiego is implementing a multi-state initiative to strengthen the quality of Antenatal Care (ANC) services in collaboration with state governments. The program focuses on improving maternal and newborn health outcomes by addressing key gaps in service delivery. The intervention adopts a comprehensive approach built on four core pillars: competency strengthening of healthcare providers, ensuring availability of essential commodities, promoting continuity of care across the pregnancy continuum, and enhancing community engagement. Through targeted capacity building, supportive supervision, digital innovations, and system strengthening, the program aims to improve early identification and management of high-risk pregnancies, increase adherence to ANC protocols, and enhance service utilization. The goal is to reduce low birth weight, prevent avoidable maternal deaths, and improve overall quality of care at public health facilities.
The Program Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the implementation of Quality ANC interventions at the district level. Working closely with District /Divisional Health Authorities, and facility teams, the coordinator will ensure effective rollout, monitoring, and integration of Quality ANC services within existing health systems.
Responsibilities
  • Support the rollout and effective implementation of Quality Antenatal Care (ANC) services across all designated health facilities in the district.
  • Work closely with District Health Officials to ensure seamless integration of quality ANC services into routine maternal health service delivery.
  • Support the planning and organization of trainings and capacity-building sessions for ANMs, Staff Nurses, Medical Officers, and other healthcare providers on quality ANC protocols and guidelines.
  • Assist in on-site mentoring and supportive supervision visits to strengthen provider skills and adherence to ANC standards and protocols.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor quality of ANC service delivery, including adherence to clinical protocols, documentation, and beneficiary care practices.
  • Identify gaps in service provision and support facilities in developing and implementing corrective action plans.
  • Document best practices, success stories, case studies, and key learnings from program implementation.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports in line with program and donor requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors in arts/ commerce/ social sciences/ social work/Diploma Nursing/ Public Health with Masters in any relevant discipline is essential.
  • Diploma/Bachelors in Statistics, Computer Application, Demography or Data analytics will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in programmatic, administrative and data support function.
  • Experience in a similar role in public/development sector/ INGOs is highly desirable

  • Willingness and flexibility to work on a wide range of tasks and travel up to 70% of time
