What role will you play in the team

As an Investment Banking Mergers and Acquisitions Valuation Specialist, you will play a critical foundational role within our elite corporate finance advisory team in Chennai. You will drive complex financial valuations, construct rigorous DCF models, and prepare pitch books for high-stakes domestic and cross-border M&A transactions. Your analytical precision will directly influence deal execution and strategic financial advisory provided to our tier-one enterprise clients across diverse industrial sectors in the capital markets.

What you will do

You will execute comprehensive valuation exercises, build dynamic Excel models using advanced macros and VBA, and analyze market trends using Capital IQ and PitchBook. Your daily routine will involve synthesizing financial data, stress-testing valuation assumptions, and collaborating closely with senior bankers to draft confidential information memoranda and executive presentation decks for prospective buyers and sellers.

Key responsibility

• Develop and maintain complex Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Leveraged Buyout (LBO), and Dividend Discount models to evaluate target companies and prospective acquisition assets.
• Perform exhaustive Comparable Company Analysis and precedent transaction analysis using databases like Capital IQ, PitchBook, and Dealogic.
• Design, automate, and optimize financial models utilizing advanced Excel Macros and VBA to enhance processing speed and accuracy.
• Compile comprehensive pitch books, teaser documents, and management presentations for active sell-side and buy-side M&A mandates.
• Conduct rigorous financial statement analysis, historical performance normalization, and working capital peg calculations for deal structuring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional legal and accounting due diligence teams to review financial records and identify valuation adjustments.

Required Qualification and Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 0 to 1 years of rigorous professional experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or private equity transaction advisory.
• Expert-level proficiency in financial statement analysis, Valuation Techniques, DCF modeling, and Comparable Company Analysis.
• Advanced technical command of Excel Macros & VBA, Capital IQ, PitchBook, and Dealogic transaction databases.
• Exceptional quantitative aptitude, extraordinary attention to detail, and the capability to synthesize complex financial datasets under tight deal deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to draft professional financial documentation and client-ready presentations.
