What role will you play in the team

As a Junior Node.js and PostgreSQL Backend Web Developer based in Kolkata, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and scaling the server-side architecture of our enterprise-grade applications. You will work closely with cross-functional product teams to ensure high availability, security, and performance of our core backend services.

What you will do

You will write clean, maintainable server-side code using Node.js and Express.js, design robust relational database schemas in PostgreSQL, and build secure RESTful APIs. You will also participate in database query optimization, implement authentication protocols, and deploy microservices onto cloud infrastructure environments.

Key responsibility

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js and Express.js framework.
• Develop, manage, and optimize complex relational database schemas, tables, indices, and stored procedures in PostgreSQL.
• Implement secure authentication, authorization, and data encryption mechanisms using industry-standard protocols like JWT and OAuth.
• Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code coverage and high reliability.
• Monitor server performance, diagnose bottlenecks, and optimize resource utilization across distributed backend systems.
• Integrate third-party web services, payment gateways, and enterprise communication APIs seamlessly into the core application.
• Maintain meticulous API documentation using Swagger or Postman and participate in peer code reviews.

Required Qualification and Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Applications, Computer Science, or equivalent engineering disciplines.
• 0-1 years of professional or project-based experience in backend web development using Node.js and JavaScript.
• Solid understanding of relational database management systems, specifically PostgreSQL, with proficiency in writing complex SQL queries.
• Familiarity with RESTful API design principles, JSON data interchange formats, and asynchronous request handling.
• Working knowledge of Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative branching strategies.
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms like AWS or Microsoft Azure and containerization tools like Docker.
• Strong debugging skills and ability to analyze stack traces and server logs effectively.
