Job Description
What role will you play in the team
As a core member of our private equity analytics team based in Chennai, you will act as the principal guardian of portfolio asset integrity. Your analytical acumen will safeguard multi-billion dollar private investments by implementing cutting-edge quantitative risk mitigation frameworks, conducting rigorous credit evaluations, and establishing robust compliance protocols across our entire portfolio company ecosystem.
What you will do
You will immerse yourself in assessing portfolio-wide market, credit, and operational vulnerabilities utilizing sophisticated risk management software and statistical modeling packages. Your daily responsibilities include stress-testing capital structures, auditing portfolio company financial health, and generating exhaustive quantitative risk dashboards that guide our investment committee's strategic asset allocation.
Key responsibility
- Design, implement, and maintain advanced quantitative risk models using SAS Risk Management platforms.
- Conduct deep-dive stress testing and scenario analyses on leveraged portfolio companies.
- Monitor liquidity metrics, counterparty risk exposures, and capital adequacy ratios continuously.
- Collaborate with portfolio operations teams to remediate identified financial and operational control deficiencies.
- Utilize Eikon and FactSet to track macro-financial risk indicators impacting portfolio valuations.
- Draft comprehensive monthly risk assessment reports for general partners and investment committees.
Required Qualification and Skills
- Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of specialized experience in risk management, quantitative analytics, or private equity operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in Risk Management Software and SAS Risk Management methodologies.
- Deep understanding of Capital Markets Platforms, Eikon, and FactSet for data extraction and analysis.
- Strong programming skills in Python or R coupled with advanced Excel modeling capabilities.
- Exceptional analytical thinking, problem-solving aptitude, and rigorous commitment to internal compliance standards.

A Day in the Life
Your morning is dedicated to running automated risk simulation scripts through SAS Risk Management software to evaluate portfolio exposure shifts. Later, you will consult with portfolio company CFOs to review their debt covenant compliance and present your quantitative findings during the afternoon risk committee review.
