Principal Backend Architect (MERN Stack)

**Role Summary:**

This senior role requires a professional with extensive experience in Node.js Backend Architecture. In this position, you will design and implement scalable, high-performance, and reliable backend systems within a matrix organization. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, product managers, and data scientists, you will lead the technical design and development of backend services to ensure successful project delivery.

To excel in this role, you must demonstrate a strong understanding of software architecture and design principles, along with experience in working on B2B SaaS applications. Candidates are expected to have expertise in scaling applications and systems, particularly in building cloud-native SaaS applications in scenarios of rapid growth.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• Architect and design scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems using Node.js
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and align them with business objectives
• Develop solutions for data storage, retrieval, and processing
• Build RESTful APIs and web services to facilitate seamless communication between frontend and backend systems
• Ensure security, reliability, and fault tolerance of backend systems
• Create technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, data models, and API specifications
• Mentor and guide junior developers, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards
• Design and develop integrations with third-party SaaS applications using SDKs and REST APIs
• Implement secure and efficient data exchange mechanisms with third-party systems
• Stay updated with SaaS integration technologies and incorporate advancements into solutions
• Design and develop Elasticsearch-based search and data querying solutions, integrating them with GraphQL APIs

**Ideal Profile:**

• Degree in Engineering from a top-tier institute with a minimum of 15 years of experience, including 5 years as a software architect
• Extensive experience in designing and developing backend systems using Node.js, Express.js, and MongoDB
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, RESTful API design principles, and cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS
• Proficiency in database technologies, including relational and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong fundamentals in computer science and logical thinking
• Experience in Agile methodologies and working in Agile development environments
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead and mentor junior developers
