Qualifications: Qualified CA
Experience: 0-2 years of experience in direct tax
Roles And Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth tax due diligence on identified investee companies for primary and secondary acquisitions by private equity funds.
- Render transaction advisory services to clients on deal structuring, including buy-side and sell-side advisory and internal restructurings from a tax and regulatory perspective.
- Analyze and interpret tax and regulatory implications of transaction structures under domestic and international tax laws and applicable regulatory framework.
- Work closely with private equity and alternative investment funds to evaluate tax and regulatory implications of fund structures, portfolio company investments, routine compliance matters and exit strategies.
- Assist in the design and implementation of tax-efficient investment holding structures.
- Ensure timely and accurate compliance with income tax regulations and other applicable regulatory filings, including preparation and filing of tax returns and handling assessments.
- Apply working knowledge of related regulatory frameworks such as FEMA, SEBI, and Companies Act to provide holistic advice to private equity and alternative investment funds.
- Collaborate with legal, financial, and operational teams to provide integrated transaction support and ensure compliance with internal operating and independence framework.
- Coordinate with other internal departments / global teams for seeking inputs on structuring aspects, cross-border transactions and international tax matters, as may be relevant.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and high-quality service delivery.

- Working knowledge of income-tax provisions (residency, heads of income, computation mechanism, charging sections, etc. for various streams of income) is a must-have
- Prior working experience in tax due diligence / private equity clients would be an added advantage
- Prior basic knowledge of other laws like FEMA and SEBI would be preferred
- Strong people and client management skills
- Possess excellent communication skills with an ability to interact with all levels across the organization
- Team player
- Strong analytical ability
