KreditBee - Data Scientist/ML Specialist - Credit Risk Models

About The Role
We are looking for talented Data Science professionals to join our fast-growing fintech team. You will play a critical role in developing and deploying credit risk models for the retail segment, focusing on acquisition, portfolio management, and collections. This role emphasizes applied machine learning and credit decisioning to drive real business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

• Partner closely with the leadership team to align data initiatives with business goals.
• Work cross-functionally with Product, Technology, Business, and Risk teams to deliver data-driven solutions.
• Design and develop machine learning models across the customer lifecycle : acquisition, portfolio, and collections.
• Optimize credit risk strategies through data-driven insights and advanced modeling.
• Review existing models/analyses and propose refinements for better performance.
• Build customer risk segmentation, profiles, and strategies to improve collections and recovery management.
• 
  Leverage alternate data sources to enhance credit risk models.
• Provide actionable recommendations for improving risk frameworks and business outcomes.
  

Experience & Skills
Must-Have :

• 2-5 years of hands-on experience in Data Science, preferably in fintech or banking.
• Proven expertise in developing ML models for credit risk (acquisition, behavior, collections scorecards, etc.).
• Strong programming and data handling skills : Python, SQL
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

• Experience in strategy and business analytics.
• Exposure to propensity scorecards and advanced ML techniques.
• Graduation/Post-graduation from Tier-1 institutes (IITs, ISI, DSE, NITs, etc.).
