Lam Research is a leading global manufacturer of capital equipment used in making leading-edge-semiconductors across the world. We primarily compete in four specific areas – deposition, etch, photoresist strip, and single wafer clean. Lam Research India team is organized into three major areas of responsibility: Hardware, Software, and Operations. We have an open position in the Hardware group. The Hardware group, designs subassemblies and subsystems for Lam’s product lines, providing innovation for the next-generation products, providing improvements in cost and reliability. In Hardware group, mechanical engineers, simulation analysts, electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and supplier quality engineers contribute to designing and improving Lam’s products.

Join Lam as an Mechanical Hardware Designer and create innovative designs that improve costs, reliability, and advancements in next-generation products. You'll apply digital design, CAD software, and interpret engineering drawings to implement designs that solve material and manufacturing process challenges. Your expertise contributes to the reliability and innovation, showcasing Lam's commitment to cutting-edge technology. 

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational qualification: B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Design (Systems and Power Boxes: Cable Design & Routing).

• Years of Experience: B.E/B.Tech with 6 to 10 years of relevant experience.

Mandatory Skills

• Interact with cross functional teams (India and US) like Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, etc. to get the inputs on interpretation of mechanical drawings/specifications and electrical wiring drawings and interconnects.
• Cable & harness routing, polyline routing and any other flexible component routing using NX/CREO Cable routing module.
• Supports manufacturing/supply chain by documenting and releasing engineering harness drawings.
• Providing the required length to build the cables, polylines and other flexible components.
• Provide timely solutions for efficient routing and better packaging of components.
• Participate in design reviews; Prepare and present design reviews.
• Provides resolution to design and documentation quality issues (Problem Reports /QB issues/ Supplier Build issues) on routing.
• Create, release and maintain standard procedure for 3D routing for the team.

• Proficient in 3D routing module in NX/CREO.

• Well versed with interpretation of mechanical drawings/specifications and electrical schematics.
• Working knowledge in OEM Component selection (connectors, back shells etc.), design standards and BoM (Bill of Material) Management.
• Problem solving and decision-making skills.

Desirable Skills

• Prior experience in the semiconductor equipment industry.

• Experience with documentation standards and Engineering Change Management processes.

• Familiarity with Bills of Material (BOM) structure and configuration, and knowledge of PDM and PLM system like Team center and SAP PLM, etc
• Teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Should have good communication skills (written & verbal) and presentation skills.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
