Job Description

PLANT HEAD

Neemrana, Rajasthan | On-site | Full-time

About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading dermaceutical and cosmeceutical company with a strong portfolio of dermatologist-recommended skincare products.

As the organisation continues to expand its manufacturing operations, it is looking to appoint an experienced Plant Head to take complete ownership of its Neemrana manufacturing facility and ensure seamless day-to-day operations.

This is a plant leadership, administration and operations role rather than a technical formulation, R&D or QC position. The ideal candidate will be a strong people leader who can independently manage a 100+ member workforce, drive shop-floor discipline, coordinate across functions and ensure the plant operates efficiently, safely and compliantly.

  • Location: Neemrana, Rajasthan
  • Work Mode: On-site | Full-time
  • Team Size: 100+
  • Experience: 8-15 years
  • Reporting: CEO/ Founder Gurgaon

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant Leadership & Ownership:

  • Take end-to-end ownership of the Neemrana manufacturing facility and act as the primary leader for plant operations.
  • Ensure smooth, disciplined and efficient functioning of the plant across all departments.
  • Identify operational issues proactively and drive timely resolution.

2. People Leadership:

  • Lead and manage a workforce of 100+ comprising workers, operators, supervisors and administrative personnel.
  • Drive manpower planning, shift deployment, attendance, leave management and workforce productivity.
  • Handle employee discipline, grievances and shop-floor issues effectively.
  • Build a culture of accountability, discipline, teamwork and productivity.
  • Develop supervisors and frontline managers to create a strong second line of leadership.

3. Production & Cross-functional Operations:

  • Ensure production and packing activities are executed in line with the plans and timelines communicated by the corporate office.
  • Coordinate closely with Production, Packing, Stores, QA/QC, Maintenance and Dispatch.
  • Resolve operational bottlenecks and ensure production commitments are met.
  • Drive effective utilisation of manpower, equipment and plant resources.

4. Stores, Inventory & Dispatch:

  • Oversee management of raw materials, packaging materials and finished goods inventory.
  • Ensure proper stock control, reconciliation and minimisation of wastage and inventory losses.
  • Manage inward and outward logistics, transportation and dispatch operations.
  • Ensure timely movement of finished goods to warehouses and distributors.
  • Coordinate with the Gurgaon corporate office on purchase requirements, sales orders and fulfilment.

5. Plant Administration & Compliance:

  • Oversee overall plant administration, including security, housekeeping, canteen, infrastructure and maintenance coordination.
  • Ensure the facility remains compliant with applicable GMP, quality, safety and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain required licences, registers, documentation and compliance records.
  • Ensure the plant remains clean, organised and audit-ready.
  • Coordinate with local authorities and industrial-area officials wherever required.
  • Drive adherence to EHS and statutory requirements.

6. Reporting & Governance:

  • Provide regular MIS and operational updates to the Directors / Operations Head at the Gurgaon corporate office.
  • Track key plant KPIs and highlight deviations proactively.
  • Present solutions and corrective actions rather than merely reporting problems.
  • Ensure strong process discipline and accountability across the plant.

Candidate Profile

Essential Experience:

  • 8-15 years of relevant experience in plant / factory / manufacturing operations.
  • Experience as a Plant Head, Factory Manager, Works Manager, Operations Manager or equivalent leadership position.
  • Demonstrated experience of independently managing a manufacturing facility with a 100+ workforce.
  • Strong hands-on experience in plant administration, people management and operational coordination.

Industry Experience Mandatory:

Candidates must have experience in one or more of the following:

  • Cosmetics / Beauty
  • Dermaceuticals / Cosmeceuticals
  • Personal Care
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • FMCG

Candidates from unrelated manufacturing sectors will not be considered.

Functional Capabilities:

The candidate should have:

  • Strong people-management and shop-floor leadership capabilities.
  • Good understanding of the complete manufacturing cycle from RM/PM receipt through production, packing, storage and FG dispatch.
  • Experience in inventory, logistics and dispatch management.
  • Understanding of GMP, plant compliance and documentation requirements.
  • Strong administrative and problem-solving capabilities.
  • A firm but fair leadership style with the ability to command respect on the shop floor.
  • Strong process orientation and a high degree of ownership and accountability.

What This Role Is Not:

This is not a purely technical role.

Professionals whose experience is predominantly restricted to Formulation, R&D, QC or QA, without significant responsibility for plant administration, manpower and overall factory operations, are unlikely to be suitable.

Other Requirements:

  • Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Neemrana, Rajasthan.
  • Language: Hindi is mandatory; working proficiency in English is required.
  • The role requires a hands-on, on-site leader who is comfortable being closely involved with day-to-day plant operations.

The Opportunity:

This is an opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing leader to take complete ownership of a growing plant, work closely with the senior leadership team and play an important role in strengthening the organisation's manufacturing and operational capabilities as the business scales.
