Role: Investment Analyst - Rooftop Solar and other Cleantech Debt Finance - Gurugram

Marman Climate Smart Technology Private Limited (Marman) is a Lending FinTech startup (Forbes India Top 100 Startups to Watch list) focused on Climate Finance in India, for segments including rooftop solar, waste management, DRE-agri-tech, e-Buses charging, green buildings, industrial waste-water treatment, and such other environment-related segments. Marman's business model is to empanel early-stage and mid-sized B2B vendor partners in these Cleantech segments, and then extend debt related services to their customers (SMEs or underserved segments), for their cleantech projects, without any hard collateral, under very close synchronization with our vendor partners. Marman Climate Services Private Limited is a wholly-owned-subsidiary of Marman.

Marman is looking to recruit an Investment Analyst - B2B Cleantech Finance - based at its Gurugram office, to join a start-up in its foundation stages - with all the joys and uncertainty associated with it! The candidate will take end-to-end ownership of business development, structuring, credit assessment, deal execution and portfolio monitoring, while strengthening the Marman platform. The candidate must have a "can do" attitude and a "hunger for business" for the segments that we cater to, at the same time handle the various tasks involved in building the Marman platform. This is a full-time, individual contributor role that requires you to constructively take the business deals to a meaningful conclusion without having to lean on a supporting team.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Business Development, Deal Origination, New Client Acquisition within the mid-sized or early-stage Cleantech industry and SMEs in India
• Relationship Management, engaging with promoters and CXOs, Banks and eco-system partners
• Credit Assessment, performing credit analysis, financial modeling & due diligence for comprehensive credit underwriting
• Deal Structuring, Execution and Documentation, driving transactions from term sheet to closure & disbursement
• Monitor Portfolio closely including monthly cash flows, key milestones
• Portfolio loan servicing and operations, maintaining nil or near-zero credit losses
• Build Marman Platform, refine growth, lending and monitoring strategies and assist in corporate functions, working closely and in sync with the founding team, maintain MIS, track regulations

Requirements:

• You must be keen to join and be able to thrive in a startup that aims to grow aggressively in the sustainability finance space
• Must have clear action-oriented thinking, with strong financial, analytical, problem solving and communication skills
• 2+ years' experience in Structured Finance / Investment Banking / NBFC Lending / Debt Syndication
• Must have a professional qualification such as CA / CFA or equivalent
• Prior mid-market lending experience, particularly in Cleantech segment, is a plus
• Proven experience in deal origination & end-to-end execution, is a plus
• Experience in lender management (Banks, NBFCs, Private Credit, Family Offices), is a plus
• Strong proficiency in Excel, financial modeling & PPT, is a must
• Must have ability to work 'hands-on' and 'multi-task' effectively in a team
• Location: Gurugram, India
• Compensation expectation up to 16 LPA preferred, using your own vehicle, laptop, phone
• Must be comfortable in a goal-oriented environment, where integrity-lapse or non-performance can be adequate cause for termination
• Must be comfortable to maintain frugality while not impacting customer-service or diluting the Marman brand.
