Job Description
- executive position|work with senior management and board of directors
A 500-bed hospital of in-patient and out-patient services in Basra, Iraq.
- Report to the CEO and board of directors.
- Plan, develop and implement departmental goals and strategies for health care to ensure the effective delivery of medical services as well as compliance with local laws, rules & regulations.
- Direct and coordinate hospital policies, administrative directives, and medical staff, but not limited to quality assurance, control and improvement, utilization review, clinical department services, and continuing education.
- Develop the organizational structure, manage high volume recruitment, and attract and retain clinical and non-clinical talent.
- Provide leadership for setting the standards of professional conduct for the medical staff under his/her supervision.
- Supervise and evaluate the services provided by the medical departments and implements changes as necessary.
- Consult with and advise the hospital staff and committee bodies on administrative directives, regulatory policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining high quality of patient care and introduction of modern techniques and therapeutic agents.
- Instruct and advise medical support departments (Nursing, Pharmacy, Radiology, etc.) on medical service and training programs, policies and procedures to ensure the quality of patient care.
- Develop and implement strategic goals related to the quality improvement, management programs, and accreditation standards.
- Attend and participates in a variety of senior management business meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, new task efforts, and new policy requirements.
- Graduated from an approved medical school with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).
- Minimum of 8 years experience; responsibility includes hospital operations, administrative & medical leadership level in Iraq or levant countries.

- Clinical risk management experience.
- Arabic speaking is mandatory.
- Strong network of contacts and key opinion leaders within the private and public sectors in Iraq.
- Ideally already based in Iraq. If currently abroad, someone with Iraq experience is preferred.
- Experience in setting up a hospital from scratch, from design until execution.
