Role Overview:

The Logistics Head (Outbound Road) will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire outbound road transportation network for finished goods, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery to customers and distributors. This role involves close collaboration with sales, production, and warehousing teams, as well as managing a large fleet of vehicles and a network of transporters. The Logistics Head will play a critical role in improving customer satisfaction, reducing transportation costs, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive outbound road transportation strategy to meet the company's sales targets and customer service objectives.
• Manage a large fleet of vehicles and a network of third-party transporters, ensuring optimal utilization and cost-effectiveness.
• Negotiate transportation contracts and rates with transporters, ensuring competitive pricing and service levels.
• Monitor and analyze transportation costs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
• Oversee the planning and execution of daily dispatch schedules, ensuring timely delivery of goods to customers and distributors.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Develop and implement performance metrics to track and improve the efficiency of the outbound road transportation network.
• Collaborate with sales, production, and warehousing teams to optimize the flow of goods and minimize lead times.
• Resolve transportation-related issues and customer complaints in a timely and effective manner.
• Lead and develop a team of logistics professionals, providing coaching and mentoring to enhance their skills and performance.

Required Skillset:

• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective outbound logistics strategies.
• Proven expertise in managing a large fleet of vehicles and a network of third-party transporters.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 10-15 years of experience in outbound logistics management, preferably in the TMT/Grey Cement industry.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
• Proficiency in using logistics management software and tools.
